Who was the missing person who boarded a Auckland flight instead of Oakland?
I remember reading about a missing person in an old Klutz book (along side DB Cooper and his ilk) who mistakenly boarded a flight to Auckland when trying to go to Oakland and was never heard from again. I've been trying to locate information on who he was but I can't figure it out for the life of me. Wikipedia is no help. If anyone remembers his name or any info about him, I was curious to see if his story ever developed.

He didn't disappear. His name was Michael Lewis. He was a college student flying home to Sacramento from Europe via Los Angeles in 1985. It was not until shortly after takeoff that Lewis realized his error. The next day the airline flew him home from Auckland at no charge.
