International travel with an infant?
I just had my son 2 months ago. I live in Okinawa Japan & I want to fly back to California to visit my family so they can meet my son. I will be flying with Just me & Jack (my 2 mo. old son) I'm a little nervous about traveling with him. I will be taking 2 flights. One from Okinawa to Seattle & one from Seattle to Oakland. The flight from Okinawa to Seattle is 10+ hours if I remember correctly. He is bottle fed with formula. I'm wondering if I will be able to take hid formula on the plane. I wondering about his car seat& stroller - can I check them? Are they counted as extra baggage? Where do I change him? the airplane bathrooms are so tiny. If anyone has any tips, suggestions, or helpful information I would really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks Oh - and I plan on checking with the airline about their policies & procedures on exact answers I was just looking for an answer from someone's personal experiences

I don't know about Japanese rules, but for flying out of the US internationally the following are true You gate check the stroller an carseat...they do not count towards your baggage allowance. Changing him will be a crap shoot. Not all airplanes have changing tables. Even the ones that do are small and cramped. Changing him on the floor may be the easiest thing, so keep that in mind and bring something to protect him from the floor (blanket/changing pad/etc). In the US, the TSA exempts formula and breast milk from the 3oz rule. Best tip...plan how much formula/diapers you'll need and then add in a buffer for a flight delay/explosive poop/etc
