Also I don"t know what it is I am supposed to print out to show that I'm going on the flight and that I purchased a ticket. I have my conformation code but I have no idea how any of it works please help thanks.

dont worry...first of all...i sure hope that you have your flight ticket...there it will have your flight number...and perhaps your terminal number...the first thing you do in an airport is very similar to what you do at a bus terminal...you first check your baggage...after that you go through the xray device...and after that...on top of you...you will see the terminal numbers...then you check your ticket...and you just follow the arrows from there....if your really lost...just ask an employee to help you out...

Go up to the desk of the airline you're taking and check in with the people there - they can use your name or confirmation code to look up your ticket. If you're 13, you probably don't have an ID (maybe a school ID??), which is how airlines usually verify your identity - your mom may have to check you in. As far as printing - I have never needed the printed confirmation code when flying, but it's nice to have it "just in case." If you have an email from the airline/travel site through which you booked, print that. If you can log back in to the travel site account, print a confirmation page from there. But don't worry if you can't figure it out - if you write down the confirmation number, they can use that. Or if all else fails, they can look you up by name! Good luck.

Normal procedure for all airports is to: 1) Passport with visa (international travel), Valid ID. Ensure you call airline reservation to confirm your booking. Get your flight number and date right. 2) Pass the xray machine and custom if required. 3) Checking self and baggage, 4) Collect boarding card from Check in agent (check your boarding gate, boarding time) and proceed to the boarding gate at the time mentioned. Late reporting may lead to offloading and have to book all over again (some airlines charge for re-booking). Pay excess baggage charges if any. 5) Immigration for international travel. 6) Hand in your boarding card to the agent for boarding and retain the boarding docket after. Take good care of the boarding docket until you finish your journey. If you have enrolled with the frequent flyer program then keep the docket until the points has been credited to your membership. Ensure to read signs for any gate changes. When you arrive at the destination airport you'll first pass through immigration in event of international travel. Then collect your checked bagggage, and last the custom and xray machine. Bon Voyage

Make sure you have a picture ID. they will have your flight in the computer. Get to the airport 2 hours before your flight. After you get to the counter to check in, you will be a line for security check. They are looking for weapons or liguids. You will have to remove your big jewelry, and shoes, and be sure to take your cell phone out too. Your mom will not be with you at this point. You can buy snacks and water at the shops after the security point. There are alot of uniformed people working there, so at anytime, if you feel uncomfortable, let someone know. Southwest is friendly, and can help you if you need it. Relax but be aware of your surroundings.

It's no big deal, don't sweat it. You mentioned you have a ticket on Southwest airlines. Go to their website: http://www.southwest.com/ On the right hand side of the screen are a few choices. Select the second one down, "Check In online". this brings up another screen where you type in your confirmation number and your name. It will then ask you to verify the information, once you select "ok" then it will display a boarding pass. You then can print this out, and bring it with you to get on the airplane. When you come to the airport, you should go to the "departing flights" area if being dropped off. If parking in the garage, you'll have to navigate the maze to find the departing flights area. Simply look for your airline's name. Southwest airlines should have a large area for you to check in bags and such. If you only have a carry on bag, then you can skip this assuming you've already printed your boarding pass (see first paragraph). If you have a large suitcase, then it has to be checked in, and they will load it for you. So get in the Southwest line and just wait until the line moves and someone weighs your bag. Keep in mind that you should get to the airport about 2 hours before your flight to have enough time to check in and get through security. Don't try and bring any liquids, weapons, knives, needles through security. Your boarding pass will say a gate number where you get on the plane. For example "B26". The airport will be divided into wings. "A", "B", "C", etc... (pending size of airport). Simply find the wing that has your gate letter. The number is the exact place where you can get on the plane. In my example, this would be wing B, gate number 26. This could be different for you. Once you get to the gate, a sign will read the name of the airline, and where it is traveling to. Also, all around the airport are TV's displaying the flight information for all airlines in the airport. This is also usually displayed by gate numbers and times of departure and arrival. At the gate, you can check in again, to ensure your boarding pass is vvalid. then just wait around and follow the insturctions when they read them off over the PA system. They will tell you when it is ok to board the airplane. If you book Southwest online, and get a boarding pass on line (see first paragraph) then you'll probably get an "A" boarding pass. This lets you get on the airplane with the first group of people, and you can select whatever seat is available. Then just sit back and relax. When in the air, you'll hear lots of strange noises from the plane itself. Alot of this is hydraulics that move wing flaps, raise and lower the tires. All of these noises are perfectly normal. You'll also probably experinece turblance. This is where the airplane bumps around. Sometimes a little bit, sometimes alot. It is also perfectly normal, just like riding on a bumpy road in a car. Hope this helps! Have a great trip, and have fun!!!!

If this is your first flight on an airline and you are travelling alone, you should have requested for Services for Unaccompanied Minors/Young Passengers when you book your ticket with Southwest airline. If you have not done so, do call the airline to request for that service or ask for it when you check in at the counter with your confirmation code on the day of departure. But if you want to be adventurous, it is still not too difficult to travel all by yourself on an airline for the first time. Things to remember : 1. Make sure you have all your travel documents and the confirmation code readily available - print out the confirmation letter from Southwest and keep a copy with you just in case 2. Please be punctual at the departure hall - I suggest you arrive at least 2 hours prior to the departure time to cater for contingency 3. Look for the Electronic Departure Information Screen to confirm the check-in counter based on your flight number/destination and proceed there for your boarding pass. Request for the service I mentioned earlier if you so decide then 4. With the boarding pass, you will know the gate and seat numbers for your flight. Proceed to the gate early where you will wait in a holding room. Just relax there and listen to the announcement when it's ready to board the aircraft 5. When you reach your destination, just follow the other passengers towards the arrival terminal and collect your luggages at the designated belt if you have checked-in any at the check-in counter. To know which belt to proceed, either you again follow the other passengers on the same flight or you look at the arrival board to check for the belt number based on your flight details Have a safe and pleasant flight.

The best thing that you can do is find someone who works at the airport. From there tell them that you're only 13 and about to take your first flight alone and need help with how to do everything. They will be more than happy to help you because you are so young. Just make sure you're at the airport around 11-11:30am to factor in all the time you'll need to get situated. Good luck and have fun! :-)
